F.E.A.R. Weapons

Below is a list of the weapons that you're standardly issued by default or that you'll eventually find, collect, and add to your deadly aresnal to utilize in F.E.A.R.:

Weapon Name:

Description:

Assault Rifle

The standard issue weapon for Fettel's army of clones. It has a zoom feature, and is more accurate the RPL submachine gun. It has a nice sized clip, and good stopping power, making it an excellent defensive or offensive weapon. Overall, it is one of the most well rounded weapons of the game.

Weapon Name:

Description:

ASP

This baby packs more punch then any other submachine gun/rifle. It cuts through armor with ease and is armed with a scope which allows for for great sniping capability. While this makes it a powerful weapon, it does come with its disadvantages. It has a reload time almost as long as the shotgun, can only fire in three round bursts, has an extremely decreased rate of fire, and a significant movement penalty. Nontheless, if you are attacking or defending, the ASP is a great weapon to have.

Weapon Name:

Description:

Beam rifle

This weapon is, arguably, the best all-round one. Armed with a digital scope and the ability to absolutely fry any unarmored oppenent (or any but the heaviest when fired at the head), the Beam rifle is truly an awesome weapon. Unfortunately, it has a very slow firing rate. This is a death sentence if you miss at close ranges. For this reason, unless you are firing at long range, never engage more then one oppenent with this weapon.

Weapon Name:

Description:

Repeating Cannon

The Repeating Cannon is a weapon of mass destruction. It is an excellent weapon for saturation fire or taking out small groups of enemies, or a single heavy enemy, but is worthless in close range combat. Use this weapon in defensive position, but only use it sparingly while attacking, because the weight of this cannon will make it more deadly to you then the enemy.

Weapon Name:

Description:

Grenade

This hand-held ace will be your most used thrown weapon, albeit it also packs less punch then the others. It is excellent for clearing out small groups of enemies, killing a hidden enemy behind an obect, or making an explosive entrance to a room. The grenade will detonate two seconds after it is thrown or as soon as it makes contact with an enemy.

Weapon Name:

Description:

SMG

Basically F.E.A.R.'s version of an MP5, it has a zoom feature, but is wildly innaccurate, plus it packs less of a punch per bullet then any other one of your weapons. However, it has an extremely high firing rate and a large clip. This is an excellent weapon in close to medium combat against weaker opponents, but it is a feckless wate of bullets to fire at heavier enemies.

Weapon Name:

Description:

Penetrator

The Penatrator is an excellent weapon in any situation. Firing spikes at your opponents and literally nailing them to walls, it packs a punch. It will kill any unarmored oppenent with a headshot, and pierce armor fairly well. When using the zoom feature and aiming at a pedestrian enemy's head, you are basically ensuring one more kill. With a good sized clip and a good firing rate, this weapon has almost no real downsides.

Weapon Name:

Description:

.40 cal pistol

This .40 cal pistol is you regular, not too special, handgun. It packs great stopping power, plus is fairly accurate. For twice the fun, you can weild two at the same time, for a slightly decreased accuracy. Overall a good backup weapon, but is not designed to be your primary weapon.

Weapon Name:

Description:

Proximity Mine

This is a deadly weapon, which, when an enemy approaches, leaps up an explodes at face level. It is a good weapon to use if you are being followed by a group of enemies, or a heavy enemy, or simply want to put a mine in a place where you know the enemy will go. Note that if you hit someone when you throw it, it will detonate.

Weapon Name:

Description:

Remote Bomb

The Remobe Bomb is the most powerful thrown weapon of all. It is best used againt heavy enemies, large groups of enemies, or clearing rooms. This weapon should never be used when the enemy is close to you, because you will get blown up by your own bomb. This weapon will not detonate automatically if it hits an enemy.

Weapon Name:

Description:

Rocket Launcher

This heavy weapon is the most damaging weapon of the game. Firing a salvo of three drunken missiles it will absolutely anything in your path. Like the Battle Cannon, this weapon is more dangerous to you then the enemy when you are lugging it around constantly, and the same goes for whenever you go into closed spaces. Fire this weapon in close quarters and you will be nothing more then a cloud of blood and guts.

Weapon Name:

Description:

Shotgun

The Shotgun is the king of close quarters. With the ability to absolutely blast enemies in half at close range, you won't want to be without this weapon in close quarters. This Spaz-like shotgun does have two distinct weakness. The first is that at long range, the shotgun is absolutely worthless, making it more effective to throw rocks at your enemy (no you can't throw rocks). The second is one of the longest reload times, so be sure to reload before entering any battle.
